Volunteer In Costa Rica

Why volunteer here?

Costa Rica One Of The Most Biodiverse Countries In The World

Despite making up only 0.03% of the world’s landmass, Costa Rica is home to nearly 5% of the planet’s biodiversity. It is naturally rich in ecosystems and species; however, the country’s natural environment is fragile and considered vulnerable by many environmental NGOs and SINAC (National System of Conservation Areas).  There is a strong national pride for biodiversity and initiatives that support environmental practices, however there is little financial support to maintain the natural resources within Costa Rica’s National Parks. This limits the capacity of Park Rangers to maintain and protect  infrastructure which, in turn, negatively impacts conservation.  Limited resourcing has only been worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
