Building Change
The Raleigh Expedition in Costa Rica, led by Raleigh International Inc., is a 10-week program that combines community action, environmental projects, and adventure in rural and natural areas of the country. Moreover, it offers participants the chance to develop skills, build friendships, and make a real impact.
From October 11 to December 16, 2025, you’ll join a diverse team of young changemakers in three exciting phases:
Firstly, community projects in rural and indigenous communities.
Secondly, environmental projects in partnership with organizations and companies working on sustainable initiatives.
Finally, the adventure challenge: a trek of approximately 240 km through rainforest, mountains, and rural community areas.
Additionally, every day is an opportunity to grow, connect, and contribute to a more sustainable future. As a result, participants not only gain hands-on experience but also leave a lasting positive impact on the communities and ecosystems they work with.

Scholarships for Costa Rican participants
The expedition has a real cost of US$6,860. However, this scholarship covers accommodation, food, transportation, project materials, support, and full logistics during the expedition.
As Greentalist, an NGO registered in Costa Rica, we only request a symbolic donation of ₡80,000. In addition, we invite participants to carry out a fundraising campaign as part of their preparation. Furthermore, this helps participants engage with their communities and develop valuable skills before the expedition begins.
